Juanita Rodgers

Juanita Rodger, a lifelong writer from Jackson, Mississippi, draws inspiration from her roots and her mother’s nursery rhymes. Growing up in foster care provides ample material for her work, often touching on darker themes. In 2008, she began a novel in honor of her mother, but her passing in 2015 added the burden of fulfilling her wish. Despite ongoing struggles with focus, Juanita channels her emotions into poetry, using pain to inspire and uplift others.

Nikiesha Richards

Nikiesha “QueenBoss” Richards, hailing from the Virgin Islands 🇻🇬, has dedicated over a decade to her role as a Prison Officer. However, her true calling is in creative writing, with dreams of becoming a recognized poet. She aspires to transition into a full-time writing career, where her passion can flourish. In the picturesque backdrop of the Caribbean, Nikiesha hopes for a future where her creative talents are the focus of her life, allowing her to embrace the path of a published poet.

April Glasgow

April’s poetry has graced three anthologies: “VI Callaloo: Poems from the Caribbean (2007),” “The Caribbean Writer: Volume 23 (2009),” and “Where I See the Sun: Contemporary Poetry from the Virgin Islands (2016).” She is the distinguished winner of the UNESCO 2022 World Poetry Day Competition. With over 20 years of dedication, April has curated poetry events, notably ‘Microphone Messenjahs,’ the BVI’s leading poetry platform, in addition to hosting poetry slams and open mics. She also made her mark as a speaker at the 2022 TedX Road Town event.
