“My neighbor is not just the ones next door.
It extends beyond the ones I know.
So I can love whomever I please, whether they are ‘my anything’ or someone I will meet.
We embody His spirit when we are able
To look past the social norms and

Love.

A funny yet peculiar term,

That we as humans sometimes

Fail to understand but cannot ignore.

Like a papercut on the tip of your finger,

You fail to realize it is there.

That is until you notice, the essence of life 

oozing from your delicately knitted skin.

Falling in love is a magical feeling but 

the idea of the fall should never be questioned.

To love is to find beauty in what the world diminishes and calls ugly.

Even when strangers point their fingers and snicker,

Because true love is what some people call

Love above the label.

You speak negative about me, Your words about my weight is hurtful you see.

Not understanding the pain in my life. The wounds cut like an invisible knife.

In the mirror trying to see the beauty in me, but harsh names that’s all I see.

Battling this disease, people judging saying child please.

Wanting to give up feeling empty inside, hearing that voice “its just suicide”.

One could never understand what it’s like, the binging and purging the after strife.

So as I place all my hurt and pain on the table, I’ll forever place continuous love above the label.

No one told me love would be this hard.

Needles in my veins, beginning at my neck, making its way down my clavicle, armpit and finally clawing at my leaking breasts.

It comes out as life’s sustenance, only I can provide.

Proof that once one is now two.

Each pull at my already fractured nipple contracts my uterus, forcing more blood out my battered vagina.

Stifling my cries in hopes that you will drift to sleep and allow me to do the same.

When we think of love this is the furthest from our minds.

Yet, this is the love that binds.

Love’s pure essence begins to glide.
Unseen, unfazed by societal decree,
