See You At the Cross Roads
The course of virtue constantly lies ahead of me,
alongside the course to my downfall.
However, my feet, determination, and yearnings consistently propel me towards the very path that leads to my ruin.
Why does the route of ruin possess such allure
for our instinctual gaze, while the opposite remains simple and uninteresting?
Each time I believe I am journeying the path
of virtue, I find myself deceived once more.
I gaze across to the opposite side and down at my feet
where I presently stand, and it dawns on me
that I am not on the path I truly required to follow.
How did I even arrive here?
